The problem is not the domain, but the SID, these are unique, so you
could
easily create a new domain and add yourself, but you'd have a different
identifier to your work domain.
Your IT dept may have a cunning solution (sandbox on the VPN where specific
access is permitted to some necessary tools), but if not, then it's PC in
boot and off to the office for the day.
