Re: Re: RFXCOM and xPL

I can suggest a couple of options here but first let me echo what Mal
said that simple is almost always better. If you can plug the bits you
need directly into HomeSeer and get the functionality you want then
that's a good way to go. I'm also really pleased by Mal's RFXCOM
offering as it looks to be really interesting and well implemented but
as I sit in the xAP world I too need to do some 'massaging' to get the
data talking with my xAP setup . I shall probably do this as an exercise
anyway so that may help other people should they decide to have a
bash. I am guessing Mal won't be adding 'xAP' to his connector anytime
soon ;-).

Although I have always regarded it as a shame that xPL forked from xAP
one of the good things is that there remains a high degree of
commonality which does allow each to interoperate . I'm not going to
hijack an xPL thread but one suggestion was aired below so I'll post
some thoughts to a new adjacent thread on xAP/xPL bridging and HomeSeer
integration for those interested. There are also some possibilities of
using some (free) xAP GUI apps with xPL.
