RE: Custom error page for WEB BROWSER

Keith, just thinking aloud here, but have you thought about the
possibility of utilising a lightweight http proxy service on the client?
I've come across such things in the past that sit between the browser &
the outside world and allow you to modify pages on the fly before
presentation to the user etc... Not the same approach that you're
looking for, but might give the desired effect, since I guess the
browser would never be in the position of not being able to reach the
"server" since it would always be able to reach the
locally-running
proxy service, and thus would potentially never get to display its
internal 404-error page?
