If it is XP SP2 then you could always open xpsp2res.dll in Visual
Studio and
replace the dnserror.htm with your own modified one, otherwise it is
located
in shdoclc.dll pre XP SP2.



Remember to copy the modified dll into both system32 and dllcache and make
sure Windows file protection is not overwriting your modified dll.

OOOHHH !!!!

Getting closer to what I want to achieve.

Found the registry entries and changed the about:navigationcancelled to
point at my file and that worked if I typed
"about:navigationcancelled" in
the address bar.

Only stumbling block now is that if I unplug the network cable to simulate
loss of connectivity the error page displayed is
"res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#
<res://\\ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm> " and
non of the AboutURLs have that value
in their keys :(

But I havent given up hope yet :)

Pauls idea about a local proxy server also sounds interesting as does the
iFrame option which I will also look at.
