RE: Re: Rack mount cabinets...depths?!

Telescopic rack sliding rails will have a max and a min distance
between the
front and back pillars, so watch for that if your going to be putting
servers into it.

And most av kit is 17" wide, so will fit nicely between the 2 rack
strips,
you get the odd bit of gear with the faux-rackpanel front that will not fit
fully and not have appropriate screwholes, and all the proper rackable
audio
gear I have had a play with has not had good enough support for me to be
comfortable with it hanging only on the front strips (parasound and
mcintosh
amplifiers) - seems that most PA amps are the same as well, with no rails
or
anything which sucks..

Thanks all, its more a future proof sense was wondering if i bought
one rack then one day needed to get something bigger in there could i
do it so the answer seems with caution yes!

gives me a bit more freedom,
Need to measure my av amp now see if its wider than 19" ideally i want
everything to be in the rack either mounted properly or on shelves. at
the moment its on a glass five shelf av stand, want to move to a rack
to gain some space and ease the cooling.

Thanks
Noel
