RE: Run XP harddrive in a donor machine ?
Iirc, the 'correct' method of doing this is to put the old hd in the
new
machine, start the installation of xp and repair your current install -
that
way xp will retain all of its settings and work as its supposed to do with
your new hardware - whatever the configuration maybe.
If you change the architecture of your pc in such a way like new
mobo/cpu/ram/etc xp may well throw a bit of a wobbly before a 'rebuild'
(using the above method)
Don't quote me on it, its a while since i've don't anything like this
though.
Cheers,
Jonathan

If you dump the existing drive in as a second drive in the new PC,
there's a good chance you can create a vmware player configuration for
it and be able to run the old harddrive as a virtual server inside the
OS on the new PC.
