RE: Synology NAS

I just bought the cs407 last week. So far very impressed and chucked
in 4 500gb seagate drives. Worked fine and added slimserver as well.
Disabled all running plugins (as web interface was sluggish) and the speed
seems good but am currently adding my music over the next month so will let
you know how performs. Would not go for the e model as has less memory and
slower processor.

Can't comment on the gigabit ethernet as running on 100 until my upgrade
next year. It was easy to install (30 mins to get up plus few hours to raid
5 it). Very impressed so far as it just works and would although expensive
it saved me a day of sorting out a pc to do the same job.

Subject: [ukha_d] Synology NAS

Has anyone had experience with the Synology NAS boxes, specifically the
DS207 and CS407/407e?

I've been looking for an Ethernet connected box and not seen Synology
before. The spec looks very good and well supported.

Jim
