I'll second that recommendation for Idratek. The system, although
proprietry, is very flexible. The standard modules do the basic stuff
like temperature, light-level, humidity, switching, relay, PIR, IR,
etc. But some units are more generic and can accept analogue,
digital, or pulse width from any range of devices (I have one to
monitor sub-eletrical metering and another monitoring water depth).

The support from the guys is also very, very good.
