[OT] Backups

Hi all
This is OT but I am sure is very relevant to us media storage junkies! I am
trying to help out a friend who wants to improve his back-up but I don't
know which way to take him. I'll try and explain his set-up:
- One server running SBS 2000
- Currently around 200gb of data and exchange folders
- One tape drive Travan 20/40
- One licensed copy of Backup Exec v9 SB Edition
Now obviously his tape drive cant backup all his data and because the staff
in this small office are email junkies he's not even backing up the entire
Exchange store either onto a single tape.
He wants a 'single' one stop back-up solution that's fairly automated and
simple. He just about manages to get his staff to put a fresh tape in each
day :-)
Almost ALL his data is design files and images and thus compressing the
data doesn't have a huge effect.
His data storage needs are likely to double in the next 12 months.
So should he look at one of the new generation 400/800gb tape drives or
should he be looking at harddisc backup (Say to something like a
terastation.)
Tapes have the huge advantage of being able to be taken off site thus
providing a more robust recovery solution.
Perhaps the solution is both?
Ta
Rob
