Perhaps you could use a small form factor PC as a custom USB-Ethernet
bridge?
Perhaps this:

(dunno about writing direct to NTFS though)
Or a mini/nano ITX board with either native gigabit or a gigabit LAN card.
Not the cheapest solution though...

Yes, it is just for a hardrive however being a Media Center owner, many
of my TV recordings strech into several Gigs. So USB 1.1 speeds aren't
really acceptable for me.
I do own a NAS drive (Synology DS-101g+) which supports USB
connectivity, however it doesn't let me write nativly to NTFS.
With Gigabit Ethernet becoming the norm for many of us, it just
surprises me that full USB 2.0 maximum speeds over Gigabit is such a
hard / expensive find.
