Re: [OT] Skypein

Just an update:

I got the *Philips VoIP 841

Got Skype pro and skypein. The phone itself is good it is rugged, well
made,
feels very solid and has the nice option of being able to use the built in
speaker so you can use it as a speaker phone.

The keypad is well manufactured and feels solid and responsive. The colour
screen is bright and the menu system is intuitive and easy to use.

For me the only downside is the lack of decent ring tones and the fact that
one cannot download and insert your own.

Skypeout calls or normal skype calls are fine, the quality is good and is
the same as if you were using it on your computer.

However skypein calls are appalling. I have received a number of incoming
calls and I can hardly hear the caller. The voice keeps breaking up.
However
I think this is more of a skype problem than the handsets.

Does anyone else who uses skypein have this problem? If I could get
skypein
to work properly the system would be awesome.

My other gripe is that I always forget to either put the phone to silent or
change the status of skype when I go to sleep, so my family and friends on
the otherside of the world think I am still awake and they ring me at
4am!!!

Ho yin
