FWIW, we did try various wifi solutions to bridge 3 of our office
buildings
that were all within 100mtrs of each other, but it was never reliable
enough. They're now all joined by laser, but they're about =A34k a pop.

You need a directional aerial, methinks - some can transmit around 2Km, but
the 'beam' needs to be carefully aimed as its very narrow.
