ACT make a 230V wall switch - it's just not on sale in the UK yet
(AFAIK).  This Dutch site will ship to the UK.

Now we need some inline devices, some not-ugly switches and the Z-Wave
thermostat would be a nice addition too.

The big problem I see with Z-Wave building a large X10-style following
is that it's just become too damn complicated.  What started out as a
simple "add device and your good to go" network has grown into a
monster
with unfathomable controller replication and devices with too many
features that take a lot of effort to configure via the clunky remote
control.
