Long SCART working nicely

  • Subject: Long SCART working nicely

I've run SCART 10m or so in the past, but I've just done another run
that I thought might be pushing it.

The SCART goes from my source to a 4x2 SCART matrix switch, from there
to a modulator that drives the TVs that don't (yet!) have SCART to
them, and this modulator has a SCART through connector. From there, the
SCART goes to a SCART socket on the wall, and this terminates a cable
that goes about 15m to a side-loft near our kitchen. There there's
another SCART socket and then a home-made SCART cable through the wall
to the back of the kitchen TV.

It works a treat! Great picture, great stereo audio, wide-screen
switching, everything.

There's still 22m of SCART cable left on the reel and the bedroom floor
is about to be ripped up ...

However, as I have soldered four SCART plugs/sockets today, including
one while kneeling in the cupboard under the stairs, and two while atop
a ladder, it won't be done for a few weeks yet!
