XBMC config problem

Peeps, I'm struggling with an XBMC annoyance at the moment, which I'm
sure is probably just brain failure on my part (I attribute this to the
Christmas sherry)...

In a nutshell, for some reason, I can't get the library mode to work on all
the boxes I've softmodded for my brother-in-law.. - I've done several of
these for myself, and mine all work just fine...

There are some differences between mine & his:- mine all have big HDD's
fitted and all the media is local, whereas his have the original HDD &
access the media via a share from a Windows Home Server. - I'm not sure why
(if) that should make any difference... - any ideas?

I've enabled the library mode in the settings, I've configured the network,
& I've added the media sources by browsing the network and selecting
the shares. - Following this, the media is visible in the relevant sections
in XBMC, and I can play any of the movies without any problem... But When I
go into "Videos" in XBMC, nothing, but nothing I can do will
enable the "Library mode" link in the menu bar down the left...

If it makes any difference, I've created a new user account just for the
XBOXes to use, to which I have given read only access to the various shares
in WHS. As I said, XBMC can browse to, open & access these shares
without a problem... I've set the source type for the media shares, and
I've verified the boxes can connect to IMDB by selecting the "View
Movie Info" option on an individual title, which successfully pulls
all the details down from IMDB... it just seems to point blank refuse to do
this for the whole share when I do the "scan for new content"...

Ant ideas would be much appreciated..

Cheers.

Paul G.
