Hi all,

I thought I would send a quick note to introduce myself, as suggested by
the
moderator! I have been gently interested in HA for a while, but have
recently put together a system in my house in Cambridge. It consists of:
* XTension running on a Mac (www.shed.com) controlling the house
* X.10 modules for lights, power hungry appliances
* RFXCom to receive RF transmissions
* Oregon Scientific RF temperature/humidity meters
* Electrisave RF energy meter
* Alarm system, linked through RS-232 to Mac to monitor activities
* Various scripts picking temperature/calendar/weather/appointment/TV info
from websites
* Mac text-to-speech with per-user settings for info presented
* CH monitored by Mac (but not yet controlled)

Currently looking to add more lighting controls, but don't want to use the
X.10 units as I am not a huge fan, and don't want to use the separate LD11
modules.

I would also like to hook up the under-floor heating to the mac so, for
example, I can turn off all the heating when the alarm is set in the
morning, rather than heating the house until a pre-set time when I have
definitely left. This requires some form of controllable thermostat (or an
X.10 appliance module with a temperature transmitter). Any ideas ?

Merry Christmas all,

Tim.
