RE: HDMI cables - what's the difference?

I=92ve certainly seen sparklies/noise in the picture caused by cheap
unbran=
ded
cables, it looks very much like analogue picture noise which is interesting
considering HDMI is a fully digital signal. If you are going to bury the
cable in the wall then I would look at mid-priced branded cables that are
certified for the signals you want to send down it i.e. 1080p or 1080i
etc.=

Beyond that I would also pull in a couple of CT100, 4 x Cat5e and if you
ca=
n
find a cut length of 5 core mini-coax or a cost effective pre-terminated
analogue component cable then that could be useful as well. I would put in
=
2
double back boxes, 1 for Cat5e and the other for the other video cables.
Terminate the video cables with a brush plate for neatness if it is not
completely concealed by the TV. If you have a wall cavity to play with then
you can leave just enough cable in the back box to allow it to be pulled
ou=
t
when needed and therefore keep the back box relatively uncluttered.

Subject: [ukha_d] HDMI cables - what's the difference?

=20

Apart from price what is the difference between a screwfix / cpc HDMI=20
cable at ~=A330 / 15m or a ixos, QED etc cable at ~200 / 15m???

Also ideally I need a 12 m cable but 15m will do. Is 1080p supported=20
over such a distance, is this v1.3 of the standard?
This is for a functional / children's TV so price is more immportant=20
that ultimate performance, but the more bang for the buck the better,=20
as always.

Thanks & Happy New Year
