I've been using a couple of mono Pronto's (Lounge & Family Room)
for
lots of automation stuff. After 6 years of abuse (being dropped by
kids) they are battered but work fine. However, just feel the need
for something smarter (and colour).
Mainly the Pronto does the usual duty of replacing 'n' other controls
with one touch. E.g. switch sky, tv, av amp on and then control TV
and amp (vol) off of same screen.
I also use it for light controls (x10 scenes) etc.
I also have it set up in menus by room (i.e. Home > Lounge > Watch
>
Sky TV) with branches at each stage. This way the controls are
universal in the house and can be used in different rooms.
Im looking to one of the advanced Harmonies (eg 895. Quite like the
look of them and price point is good compared with Pronto
So, to the questions:
- Can I do room based menus again?
- Can I completely configure hard buttons (eg vol on the av amp, tv
for say pip, ch up/down for sky) for use on the 'same screen'?
- Can it control X10 IR and perhaps CBus?
- Is there anything else I should also know (pros / cons) about the
Harmonies?
Thanks for input in advance - Always the best inside track here!
Richard
