Marcus, I would put money on a device (or combination of devices) in your
house are causing this interference/reliability issue. You may be better
off
investing in a couple of FM10U's.

I have had issues with LG TVs and Sonos PSU's, they would cause
unreliability issues with X10 transmission. I now use several FM10U's
around
the house, with 4 ways plugged in where there is a high concentration of
electronic equipment.

I also moved the CM12 as close to the consumer unit as possible, and
extended the serial port to the computer via cat5. This, together with the
FM10U's has made X10 transmission very reliable over the existing mains
cables.
