Yes I have considered that but there mounted in a cupboard on a brick
wall so I'm pretty sure a lot of the noise is forward firing so to
speak. I have also considered  actually build another  enclosure around
them.. a cupboard in a cupboard. Still you would think someone could
build a quieter X10 relay :-(

You could always isolate the LD10 from the mounting with some material
to dampen the sound so that the thud doesn't get transmitted round
your house.

There was a discussion about this many moons ago and someone used this
technique quite succesfully to dampen the noise some relays made if I
remember rightly.
