I do not have HV but if it is like my system then you will need a 12V
supply to power the PIR as well as the volt-free contacts for the
output signal which are the same ones as you use for the reed-switch.
You may also want to connect the Tamper output of the PIR to an iput
too.

Most external PIR's output is not volt-free (cf internal ones) but 240V
and several amps as it is used switch an external light on/off, rather
than just send a signel to a panel.  You need to find an 12V external
PIR for use with an alarm panel as this will have the same connections
as an internal one.  Do check before you buy and wire it up though!
You could try to isolate the output of a 24ov relay with an opto-
isolator in theory, but I'd not risk my HA network with it.
