If you're going for this then you'll not be able to leave it powered up
24/7
in node zero.

I have had three replacements (via the lovely people at Argos) and all have
the same issue. After 2-3 days (dependant on use of recording or buffering)
it will lock up with no picture but sound will be present. Plenty of posts
in forums with the same problem. I guess Humax just expect people to put
them in standby each night which is understandable.

Situation is made worse by a fairly slow boot from standby (circa 30
seconds) and no discreet on off codes.

I now have the issue fixed as my home server fires it (via USBUIRT) a power
toggle at 3am each day followed by a long press of "0" some 10
minutes
later. No more lock ups.

I guess they might fix it with a software update one day but I've had the
Humax HD PVR since release and nothing yet. IIRC you have comfort
controlling IR so you'll be able to easily do something similar.

Having said that I've found recording and scheduling absolutely bullet
proof. Picture quality is stunning IMHO. SWMBO can work the UI and as long
as it records Holby City every week I am home and dry in the SWMBO stakes
:-).
