The HomeEasy range (B&Q) includes an SMS gateway - you can send
messages
directly to this to control all the HomeEasy RF based sockets/dimmers
etc.  I haven't tried one though.   This may not be suitable for your
application as I assume you have to format the SMS messages
appropriately (security) and I'm guessing your audience sourced messages
would need some interpretation...
