Yes, PIAF install was great - they do a version specifically for
VMWare
(note that you should upgrade the CentOS kernel though)

I've seen some specific configs somewhere for the SPA-3000 - if you look at
the documentation pages of the PIAF site there's some PDFs there.  I think
the "PIAF without tears" has the info.

I've got an SPA8000 (provides 8 fxs extensions) working well and that was
pretty easy to set up.
