Yeah, like "Why don't you support OpenZWave?"  Lol!

Seriously, although I know the answer, it would be nice to have on
record from the horse's mouth what the official reasons are for not
opening the protocol.

Do they have any plans to encourage uptake, or improve the user
experience (currently the system can be a bugger to set up, with a
lot of complex terminology to grasp, especially relating to
controllers).

Pricing is an issue, especially in Europe.  Switches from Merten and
MK are approaching C-Bus levels!

How much of a threat is Zigbee?
