Re: best digital programmable room thermostat?

I have this one (Horstman HRFS1)

http://www.screwfix.com/prods/93829/Plumbing/Central-Heating-Controls/Horst=
mann-HRFS1-Room-Thermostat

Its a 5+2 (or7) with about 6 time bands through the day for each.=20
Because of the number of time periods it can take a while to change...as=20
you have to amend each one. Not difficult though. Its typical electronic=20
timer setting sort of thing.

For boost - you simply hit the up/down arrows a couple of time to get=20
the new temp (0.5 deg increments) and press set. It holds that until the=20
next programmed timeperiod kicks in and sets its own temperature.

It is RF so the programmer/thermostat itself sits on the side in our=20
Hallway.....the base unit is in the normal place in the airing cupboard.=20
No great re-wiring needed which was a plus for me. The programmer unit=20
is arguably a little bigger than it needs to be and I wouldnt really=20
want it on the wall. We have it free standing tucked behind a picture=20
frame though.

No external interface though

For the price....it fitted my needs very well,.
