Re: Do I Really Need To Run Coax?
I'm not sure it is....I'm trying to find out why it's often suggested
to ru=
n co-ax.=20
Is it just for satellite signals or (some comments suggested) video...in
ca=
se of the latter why shoudn't I just run an extra length of Cat5?
On the point of a distributing satellite feeds...is there any point in
havi=
ng separate boxes over the house? Why not just contain them to node0 and
th=
en pipe the content into room TVs directly?
That surely makes sense as you can have much better HA control over it and
=
the pictures can be moved around the house much easier.

Hi
Doesn't this all depend on whether you intend to=20
use terrestial signal / satellite signal as=20
source.? If "yes" then do you intend to decode remotely from the
TV?
If you intend to use TV tuner or Freeview PVR,=20
Freesat or Sky boxes adjacent to the TV in=20
question then the signal needs to reach the device.
If not, then coax to the set is redundant (except=20
for property resale to technophobes).
Or is it me that is missing something?
