Lee,

The SMA 4000TL-20 inverter does have Bluetooth as standard, and I believe
it has two further headers on the main board for extra modules. I'll ask my
installer to confirm with SMA support that both will work together.

Ah, that depends on the inverter! On my SB3800 (I know as I had a look
inside), it only has one interface socket.
So you have either - a RS485 - or - a Bluetooth interface. Not both.
I know some of the inverters have BT fitted as standard, so they may have a
socket for RS485.
Best check on SMA's website, I don't think any installers are asked for
extra interfaces very often.
