Thanks for all the replies, I've studied and googled some more and its a
lot
clearer now (!)

So - if I get this right, a Quad LNB can serve up to 4 (potentially)
separate devices independently. I say potentially separate because you have
a TV that has a recorder, that /could/ take 2 feeds to a single device.
With
the Quattro LNB - you feed each of the 4 'modes' to a distribution box
where
'it' makes the decision based on the request of the TV what 'mode' to send
down. (maybe not the right terminology here but I hopefully correct
concept).

If you have two TV's (receivers etc) that both select the Horizontal/Low
'mode', but differing channels - they can both work? ie they are not
exclusively assigned. Hence the more than 4 receivers option.


That said and I've got it correctly - I've managed to find Quattro LNB's on
CPC but could do with a few pointers on these distribution boxes.  Peer
mentioned a box that can also take in a terrestrial antenna also so
theoretically, you could be sending 3 connections to a room that has a
satellite feed for TV as well as an antenna feed and a DVR recorder!?


The only question remaining is cost of these boxes and how well the family
goes down the whole satellite route :rolleyes:
