Well, it's a few weeks later, I've got less hair but still no xAP
messages. I've installed Sniffer and even it doesn't see any broadcast
messages from xAP, so it's quite low down in the protocol stack. I've
disabled the firewall service, and plugged a working (ie receiving)
laptop into the same port as the working machine. It was fine.
=20
And now a second machine (XP SP2) has started the same thing!
=20
I can't believe I'm the only one with this issue. Problem is, I'm at a
loss where to look next!
=20
Thanks

=20
Evening all.
=20
I've been running xAP for many months now with no issues. I control my
heating and lights etc via X10 and everything worked (notice the past
tense) very nicely. Until I installed SP2 on the lounge machine. It
doesn't see any messages but it's own. Other machines still see it's
messages (heatbeats etc) fine.
=20
You're thinking the Windows Firewall. I've turned it off (straw
clutching time)! Anyone got any other ideas?
=20
Many thanks
=20
Phil
