I've not sure if this will help but try this on the destination pc , ie
not the one running ping
Start > Run
type MMC and hit enter
File > add snap in
Find WMI Control in the list and add
select local computer
Back in the main window right click on WMI Control [Local] and select
properties
Securtiy tab
highlight root and click the security button
Add the account that ping runs under and tick the boxes, especially
"remote enable"

Hopyfully that will fix things

The computer name should just be the computer name and have no \\ or \
around
it. Also the program needs to run with an account with enough
privileges to
connect to the remote pc. By default if running as a service the app
will
run  as a local system account, just  go to admin tools, services
and  the properties of the ping service and change it to something like
a
domain admin account.<br>
