xap ping won't run - gives error message

i just installed xap ping3 and tried to run it but i get this error
message:

Failed to activate control "VB.UserControl" This control may be
incompatible with your appliation. Make sure you are using the version
of the control that was provided with your application.

i have other xap apps running on the same machine:
floorplan, watcher & weather

any ideas?
