Hi,

Jabber messages are a bit like multipart email. There is the text
section that all clients will show, but there can also be a html
section. So you can certainly embed clickable links. I have a plan to do
templates per source, hopefully should be flexible enough
self signed is fine. I'm testing against the latest openfire with self
signed certs, using both the TLS port and the SSL one

Mainly to allow it to connect to secure Jabber servers such as
GoogleTalk (SSL or TLS) but I was wondering if there are any other
features you would like to see in it? One idea I had was to allow it to
do a file transfer of images from a display message, that way you can

I can think of one... add the ability to include the "link"
attribute of
the Display.Web section in the echo'd jabber message. Actually, if you
had a comparable ability to define "templates" much like you use
in xAP
Speech, then the user could decide what parts of a display message to
include/omit and any other static text to be included. For example, I
don't care to see the pic or URL attributes, but do care about link.
However, I doubt that this is true for everyone. And, it would further
be useful if this were tailorable on a per-source (or source regex)
basis. For me, this is more useful (wrt zoneminder usage) than the
ability to do a file transfer. It would be really nice if you could
embed html into the message so that the real url (e.g., href) could be
masked and replaced with some substitute displayed text; but, I haven't
seen any mechanism for doing this via jabber.

version who has access to a secure jabber server?

I can test against an openfire server--although the certs are
self-signed (hopefully, that would be allowed).
