so I may be able to confirm this, although my integration route is likely
to be via the HomeSeer official plugin. Here is a document from the RFXCOM
site

informed that their LAN supports only xPL, not xAP (as HomeSeer plug-in
talks about xAP only and has LAN version also mentioned in plugin
documentation). LAN would allowe me to locate RFXCOM-receiver in optimal
place at house (PC in one coner only, and wireless signals sometimes lost).
You could use a USB to Ethernet adaptor but that is maybe not cost
effective. My wireless weather station is receivable over a surprisingly
long distance - much better than WiFi/ZigBee/C-Bus for example. My home is
pretty large and has very thick stone walls (>1m).
At the moment do you receive the data from the weather station by wireless
and then attach the receiver to the PC by USB or LAN ?
I am not certain about this but I believe the LAN version of RFXCOM is just
basically an IP connected virtual serial port. If so it is very likely that
all PC applications that worked with the USB version would also work with
the LAN version, as that is also effectively a virtual serial port
connection.
I know Michael (mcs) does not have a LAN version so he won't have tested
this though. Unfortunately the unit I will be receiving shortly is an
RFXmitter unit so I can't test it for you either.

have to select the standard transmitter." (standard as USB)
The RFXmitter is a new firmware build (and a different product) that
changes the fundamental way the transmitter works. It is not backwards
compatible with any application that supports the standard RFXCOM
transmitters. Only two applications - the xPL plugin and the HomeSeer
plugin support this device.
I am not sure why you want an RFXmitter/transmitter to use with your
weather station however ? Do you not just want a receiver so you can
listen to the data it sends, or does your weather station both transmit and
receive RF data too - never heard of one that does that.

successfull with your integration.
Yes - that's what I was saying above... I think it may work but it needs
testing.

"This RFXmitter can only be used by the Homeseer RFXCOM plug-in or
xPL", if HomeSeer uses only xAP? As Newbee I am confused :-(
As answered above - the RFXmitter is a different transmitter product,
usinga different protocol that only works with the two software products
mentioned. However the standard RFXCOM transmitter I believe works with all
applications although it is slightly less efficient in the way it handles
transmitting data.

xAPBSC.cmd is the command message within the Basic Status and Control
schema and is a xAP Automation protocol. mi4 has a product called xAP
Floorplan that displays xAPBSC (and other) schema data - were you meaning
that ?

them) but it does not support negative values or measurements easily -
instead for this purpose you should use xAPTSC (Telemetry Status and
Control).

message of course. For this you could either use a text device -
representing the level device instead as a text device, or use a level
device but include an additional displaytext parameter.

my send-data? As always I look for easy way out...
Any xAP display / front end software eg xAP Floorplan.
You said before you are developing a HomeAutomation system - what will be
the chosen automation 'engine' and what other devices will you be
integrating into it ?

Sorry I misundertood you before

If they are interested in adding xAP and they need any help then ask them
to get in touch :-)
Cheers Kevin
