Hi Tom,
Welcome to xAP. There are two xAP plugins for HomeSeer and
assuming you are running HomeSeer2 I would recommend you use the other
one from mcs. It's is not quite as nice in it's user interface but it
is current and supported. The mi4 one was intended for HomeSeer v1.7
and is no longer supported , although several people do still use it on
HS2. So I would uninstall the mi4 plugin and install the mcs one from
the mcs section on HomeSeer's forum
http://board.homeseer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=864
download is here..
http://www.mcssprinklers.com/hsHomeseer.htm
or
http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=119121
The install is in the library folder and there's quite a lot of
posts re usage in the discussions folder. Make sure you you set
'display options' so can view all the history (from beginning) or the
HomeSeer forum will hide older posts from view.
As to a 'hello world' example , do you already have some external
xAP device or application that you are wishing to use within HomeSeer.
Just wondering what your intention is here with xAp and HS ? If not
there are a load of apps around - just choose one that tickles your
fancy. To start with I would recommend using one that uses the xAP BSC
schema as that is the smoothest integration with the mcs xAP plugin.
All schema are supported but take a little more configuration and maybe
scripting but BSC is essentially plug and play. Michael (mcs) himself
has a ton of apps here, plus the other xAP sites.
