So, you would need some sort of stored config *anyway* if you wanted to
kick off half-a-dozen xPL sensors at the same time (for example, an
embedded device with its own hub, or "smart lightswitches")?

In other words, anything that there might be more than one of, and might
all come on at once, should be able to store its own instance?
