Hi Steve,

The code in place for wav files allows any items to be missed out, and they
can appear in any order. But folder names can only be a single tag -
whereas
the filename can be anything from just {title} to all of the tags.

Genre is an issue, as if the tag is missing it will default to 'unknown'.

Track no's always default to 1 (if not included), since the order of the
tracks in a folder cannot be assumed to be the track sequence.

The problem here is, if I understand correctly, that people have files
where
the tags are wrong - which is why I think a lot of people would use the
folder/file names as a way of not having to tag stuff?

A way around this would be to use the above format first (assuming it is
specified) and then only use the tags for items not specified in the
format.
E.g. if {genre} isn't specified as an option, then read tags for the genre
part?

This could well be what you meant?

Thoughts?

Many thanks
Tony
