xPLRioNetMP9 Rio Emulator Released

Hi all,

have published a new download (xPLRioNetMP9 beta v1.1) on the xPLRioNet
page
at www.xplhal.com

This is a windows Service that emulates a Rio receiver and therefore allows
a pc to appear in the list of available Rio's in xPLRioNet
(if anyone wants a non-service version for win98 etc, we can generate a
form
based version)

Requirements are Windows Media Player 9 and xPLRioNet (beta v1.8 or later)

It cannot run on the same pc as xplrionet as it emulates a Rio and uses
tcp/udp ports already in use by xplrionet

Control is via the xPLRioNet web interface, but if there's sufficient
interest we'll create a GUI version.

Once xPLRioNet can act as a general media server, then a version that can
run on the same pc will be made available

The xPLRioNet beta v1.8 release has a fix that ensures the random play
sequence is properly seeded (it was random before, but always the same
random!)
