xPL support for Comfort Security System now available!

The Comfort security and home automation system can now be fully integrated
into
an xPL environment through use of a free Windows application based on the
latest
Microsoft .NET technologies.
The xPL Comfort application is a Windows service that interfaces between
either
a UCM/01 (RS232) or a UCM/Ethernet (TCP/IP) module and provides full
two-way
communication between Comfort and an xPL network.
The various events that occur within Comfort, such as alarm activations,
input/output state changes and security mode changes are all reported as
xPL
messages using the standard sensor.basic message schema.
In addition, many of Comfort's features can be controlled by xPL messages
through use of the control.basic schema.
This includes setting the security mode (security off, away, night, day or
holiday), controlling Comfort's outputs, sending infra-red codes, and much
more.
Combining xPL Comfort with the xPLHal application allows you to perform
complex
non-security related logic without worrying about using up valuable space
within
Comfort's onboard memory, as well as allowing Comfort to integrate with any
other xPL-enabled device or software application.
Please see the manual that is included in the xPL Comfort download package
for a
complete list of supported operations.

For users of xPLHal, the xPL Comfort application fully supports the use of
Determinators, which leads to a truly plug-n-play experience, requiring the
end-user to have no knowledge of the underlying xPL message schema, and
allowing
many operations to be performed using easy-to-follow wizards.

The xPL Comfort application is available from the following location:
