The proposed list of modules (to duplicate xplrionet):

A) xPL Core
xPL Hub/Switch
xPL General (config, control, status etc)
xPL Generic Menu's
xPL Device IR relaying
Load modules
Handle communications between modules
Handle configuration xml file

B) Utilities (some of these may need to be in device modules as
appropriate)
Database / Scanner
Tags (id3, wmv etc)
TFTPD
DHCP
NFS
BOOTP
Port Mapper
SSDP
Video/Picture Thumbs
Mediacast
Mount

C) Sources
Shoutcast
* Text-to-speech
* Video Transcoding
* Audio Transcoding
* Tivo
Webcams

* = items where the module will be capable of self contained functionality,
or use an external extension (on a separate pc via the network)

D) Interfaces
Generic Web interface

E) Devices (incl. IR and device discovery)
Rio
Slimp3
ExStreamer
MVP
Streaming (winamp etc)

All of the code already exists in xplrionet in some form or another, so
once
the core is produced a lot of these modules can be created very quickly

Regards
Tony
