AD converters

Can anyone recommend a good cheap AD converter - I need about 4 channels.
Ideally it should be standalone and log data at most 10th of second
intervals ready for download to a PC later, but if it needs to be plugged
into a notebook / PalmPilot it's not the end of the world.

I fancy having a go at monitoring the outputs from the diagnostic port on
my
car whilst driving on a track...
