Little tip from years of cabling.......

dont try to hammer the pin into the brick.
dont try to hammer the pin into the cement.

HAMMER THE PIN INTO THE JOINT BETWEEN THE BRICK AND CEMENT :-)

It will force its way in quite nicely. Also dont use too heavy a hammer.
small hammer with rapid light blows and it just sinks into the joint.

BTW Always wear eyesheilds especially with hardened nails.
They dont bend....they just shatter and fly off anywhere :-(
