wow a question I can answer ;)

stick the folowing formula in an excel spreadsheet and copy it to the
number
of rows/ columns you need it will give you numbers 0-3 which you can map to
each tile...might be possible to set it to show the colours let me try it
;)

yup it works!

formuala is =INT(RAND()*4) paste/drag it into each cell you want to be a
tile

then use conditional formating to set the tile colours depending on the
number...if you do a recalculate you get a  new random pattern ;)

if anyone wants the spreadsheet I will post it.
