Title: RE: [ukha_d] Lights GU10 Aluminium or GZ 10 Dichroic

Difference in the bevelling of the base of the fitting. The GZ10 seems to be used mainly in dichroic applications (ie where you want as much of the heat to pump out the back of the fitting as possible, rather than radiate out the front with the light.)

On a downlighter, I'd be surprised if you wanted GZ10, since the fitting is likely to have poor ventilation above. I'd only ever use dichroic on something like picture lighting with the back of the lamp fitting pointing back out into the room.

Hi all

just wondering if anyone has a view on the pros and cons of the above bulbs
for downlighters or even what the difference is?

Thanks

Mick
