Looks interesting Tim,
I've had a look at their website & a couple of things
strike me:
It looks like it's limited to 16 X10
modules...?
It is but IIRC the
Omni
II can handle
48 –
it also seems to be much more programmable than the
Omni
LT
Does it have IR capabilities?
It
will
respond to IR via X10,
but I
don’t think it can transmit the stuff L
Does the caller ID stuff work in the
UK?
Your
guess is as good as mine!
What kind of price are we looking at for the LT
version?
No
idea –
the web site suggests prices including installation and programming –
I’ll
see if there is a price for supply only
Does it meet requirements for insurance discounts/commercial
insurance?
Depends
on your insurance company – some insist on BS certification, others
are
happy as long as it is installed by a NACOSS
installer.
Perhaps your mate could answer these for
me?
He’s
going to pop round for a chat at the end of the month. I’ll
ask.
While I
don’t think it is as flexible as Homevision, it
is 100% appropriate for my needs, with the server software installed on my
“server”
I can use the iPAQ over the wireless LAN to
control
the system (including programming it), plus use the Pronto/RC5200 for
lighting/curtain control. There’s a choice of X-10 or hardwired
lighting
too, using their proprietary “ALC”
modules.
Tim.
