Paul
I know you have a thing about BT
But for those who can't have any thing other than BT
I have an 24/7 connection via BT ISDN and Demon and VPN to my work network
This is also open 24/7 and works very well
I then access the net via the VPN and proxy server in my work which is a 2m
ADSL connection to demon
Sounds long winded but it works a treat once a few entiees in the local
host
files were added
Mike

Brian, would you mind if I cite you as proof when I phone them back?

It might involve letting me know your NTL customer number so that they can
find you....

could you mail me off-list to discuss....

In all other respects (been just over a week now...) so far I'm very happy
with NTL's service, - still got the same IP address I've had since the STB
first powered up & supplied it. Plus I've managed to get my router to
handle

DDNS updates, and I've got the router set up to run a VPN into my home LAN
-

works pretty well! I wouldn't have bothered trying either of those things
with BT's HH...

Cheers mate!
