Re: Meteor

> Errr, don't NTL use the US standard for Caller ID

It was suggested (I think on this group) that the caller ID system they use
varies depending on the NTL region! (sounds about right for NTL)
I am with NTL Thames Valley and have tried a modem which I know supports US
caller ID. It didn't work at all.
I used to have a 3Com/USR UK caller ID modem, it worked brilliantly when I
was with BT, and intermittently with NTL.

NTL sends different strings for private & out of area calls. My BT
caller ID
phone does display incoming numbers most of the time but gibberish for
withheld calls.

According to http://www.pathwaydata.co.uk/CallerIDProducts.htm#METEOR
the
Meteor supports cable networks.

Justin.
