By adding an infrared chip and some computer code, the iPod can be
transformed into a TV remote control.
One talented 14-year-old has figured out a way for iPod to grab and

the latest news headlines when it is connected to the net.

Subject: RE: [ukha_d] New HA Project - Electronic Filer
Hi Dan,
The scanner looks just the right size - what are the chances of wall
mounting this? Would the page be fed through okay? Does the
sca=
nner
handle A4 pages okay as the site says Letter and Legal sizes.
Ideally I would mount a small touchscreen just above it to assist in
the
filing, as this seems to be the time saving feature. My only
problem<=

would then be the software - it would be much easier if I could write a
very simple UI for the actual filing interface.
Are you aware of any sort of SDK or toolkit available for doing the
scanning? Also is the automatic scanning done from the software
or
hardware?
Thanks for the link.

Hi Dan
I do this at home, using a scanner made by visioneer, its a sheet fed
scanner, about the size of an empty kitchen roll tube.
I use this with a piece of software called "Paperport" as it
offe=
rs very
good compression, and you don't have to faf around setting it up.
To scan you simply push the piece of paper into the scanner, the
software
starts up and scans the page, each page is scanned in around 10
seconds.
http://www.visi=
oneer.com/products/sheetfed.html this is the scanner, it
comes complete with software, for around =A3150 - =A3200, I brought
mine
from
Insight.
If you want any further info let me know.
