Re: Shuttle Equivalent WAS Re: Cheapest TFT

Not seen a review.

But looking at the specs it still sounds like the shuttle is a better system with 6 channel sound, usb 2.0, firewire, spdif, 2 pci slots (if you go with SS50 or SS40G). Also looks nicer IMHO....

Sorry to reply to my own post BUT the Shuttle rip off is one of 5 families of PC's that Jetway do that might be of interest to people doing Mulititainer or PVR style projects

Goto http://www.jetway.com.tw/evisn/index.html and select products BAREBONE from the left menu, with a bit of deft work with a dremel to add an LCD display and the THIN-800E might look alright as an MP3/DVD solution.

If you are looking for cheap this might interest you, although I haven't looked hard to find it elsewhere

AOC LM700 17" @DCCS, http://www.dccs.co.uk  £389 (430 @DABS) not sure on postage (Based in Devon I think from memory)

OR

Free 15" LCD TV by LG again from DCCS, only problem being you need to shell out best part of 4K for the 42" plasma in order to qualify.

Haven't actually bought anything from these guys they were recommended by a mate who knows the owner, and before anyone asks no I can't get discount :-(.
