Cabling from switches to LD units
Hello Keith
Thanks for the feedback
I can understand your second scenario where the three wire + earth
would
enable you to control two LD10s
but I'm a little lost on your first one! :-)
If I use DIN rail mounted dimmer units back at my sub-consumer unit
points,
what purpose does the
YELLOW - Switched/Dimmed Live out perform?
I'm under the impression the dimming is done in the X10 unit and the
feed

Am I missing something or are you suggesting that the three core would
enable a normal non X10 dimmer to be fitted at the switch position?
I'm considering multi core cable from all the switch postions in all
the
main rooms, back to the sub consumer unit points, in order to future
proof
the installation as much as I can.
Would you like to hazard a guess at to what no. of cores/ways would be
a
safe bet?
Cheers
Tracey
